Roxie Bennett and Coco
A beloved Geelong personality, Roxie has spent over 30 years on radio at Bay 93.9 and K rock. She runs a successful PR agency and has a deep passion for GAWS, adopting her first dog, Bluey, 40 years ago!
Beyond GAWS, Roxie supports numerous local charities as an ambassador and volunteer. She lives on the beautiful Bellarine coastline with her dog Coco, and has recently welcomed a ginger, dog-friendly GAWS cat, Harry, into her family.
“It’s a beautiful day to come together. Join us, bring your pup along on a lead, and be part of the solution.”

Jed Bews and Kodi
Jed Bews isn’t just a stalwart defender for the Geelong Cats – he’s also a big-hearted supporter of animals and the important work of GAWS.
Off the footy field, Jed loves spoiling his fur child, 8-year-old Kodi. From celebrating Kodi’s birthdays in style to teaching him how to swim, their bond is something truly special.
As a Community Ambassador for PAWS for GAWS, Jed is proud to be part of an event that makes a real difference for animals in need. And while Jed is looking forward to connecting with the community, Kodi is most excited about meeting new furry friends… and possibly stealing a few tennis balls along the way!
“If Kodi could talk, he’d be encouraging everyone to get involved. Bring your dog, bring your friends and walk with us!”

Lauren ‘Loggy’ Temuskos and Wombi
You know her from the K Rock Breakfast Show, brightening your mornings since 6am. But Loggy's true passion lies with animals, especially her adorable 5-year-old red heeler, Wombi!
As our Community Ambassador for PAWS for GAWS, she loves spending quality time with dogs. Her perfect day? Almond lattes and endless dog pats! On weekends, you'll find her and fiancé Jimmy strolling the beach with Wombi.
“There are so many beautiful dogs of all shapes, sizes and colours - and we love them all. The best part? Even if you don’t have a dog, you can still join the PAWS for GAWS walk. There’ll be plenty of dogs to pat on the day!”

Kate Darby and Max
You might recognise Kate as a former AFLW Geelong player, often out and about with her nearly 9-year-old fur baby, Max.
A much loved best mate, Max is also a proud big brother to Kate’s four-year-old daughter and a wonderful companion as she grows up. Together, they love getting outdoors for family walks - especially to the beach, where Max’s favourite things include running along the sand, splashing in the water, and digging holes.
“Max is so excited to take part in his first PAWS for GAWS walk with all his doggo friends. We love being part of something that helps give dogs a second chance.”

Pete Murrihy and Frankie
You might’ve seen Peter around town with Frankie, his adorable Border Collie. Beyond their walks, he's passionate about promoting fitness, mental health, and community through Geelong's sports clubs. As an Active Geelong ambassador, he champions a healthier, more active lifestyle.
“Frankie always looks forward to seeing his GAWS friends. Special people and special bonds. If you’re thinking about doing the walk, do it!”
Sarah Bieske and Franklin
GT Magazine Editor, Sarah Bieske, when she’s not covering stories of all the amazing people in our region, Sarah loves spending time with Franklin and her family. Her passion for animals radiates just as brilliantly as her gorgeous Golden Retriever, Franklin.
“We wouldn’t miss it! It’s a great walk with great people, all supporting animals who deserve a second chance.”
